The CBS 13 I-Team “Contractor Conflict” Town Hall is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at the Franco Center located at 46 Cedar Street in Lewiston, Maine. The forum is hosted by the WGME CBS 13 I-Team to address the widespread issue of home improvement and building contractor disputes across Maine. The town hall will bring together a panel of policy makers, industry experts, and affected community members to debate proposed statewide regulations—such as the long-debated bill to officially license general home contractors. Maine remains one of only six states in the country that does not regulate general home contractors. Key Discussion Topics Consumer Protections & Recourse: Exploring options for homeowners who have lost thousands to unfinished work, subpar craftsmanship, or abandoned projects. Contractor Licensing Legislation: Debating proposals. Industry Perspectives: Addressing the pushback from those concerned about increased costs and the difficulties of finding available workers in the trades. Parking is available in the parking lot on the corner of Cedar and Lincoln streets; in the parking lot across from FX Marcotte on Lincoln Street; and in the Chestnut Street parking garage. The building is handicap accessible on the Lincoln St. Alley side.
