Why we do this

New Here Maine is free for everyone. We don't charge readers for town guides, the moving checklist, or any of our content. Affiliate commissions help pay for hosting, domain costs, and the time it takes to research and write honest, locally-grounded content about Maine.

What this doesn't change

• We only link to products and services we'd recommend without a commission attached.
• Affiliate links don't change what we say about a business, a town, or a product. Our honest-from-locals voice stays the same whether a link earns us a dollar or nothing.
• We will never accept payment to promote something we wouldn't use ourselves.
