The Choirs at Colby will present a festive first concert of the season, featuring works by several trailblazing African American choral composers, including Rollo Dilworth, Florence Price, Margaret Bonds, and Rosephanye Powell. Colby Collegium will also look ahead to the holiday season with Benjamin Britten’s harp-accompanied masterpiece, “A Ceremony of Carols.” Finally, the combined choirs will conclude the program with André Thomas’s “Mass: A Celebration of Love and Joy,” a gospel-influenced masterwork that offers a fresh and soulful perspective on one of the central texts of the choral tradition. Seats can be reserved a month in advance at Colby Arts.
